The YEERMULKE project is a creative initiative that transcends the boundaries of fashion and design to provoke deep reflection on social and cultural responsibility. Inspired by the iconic collaboration between Adidas and Kanye West to develop the YEEZY sneakers, the project emerges as a response to the artist's antisemitic statements.

At a time when pop culture and collective responsibility collide, we decided to reinterpret the YEEZY—one of the most potent symbols of style and exclusivity of the past decade—into a new artifact with profound historical and religious significance: the Jewish kippah. YEERMULKE transforms the bold and futuristic design of the sneakers into an accessory that represents not just tradition but also resilience and unity in the face of prejudice.

To create YEERMULKE, we deconstructed and reimagined elements of the YEEZY sneakers, such as the iconic fabrics and colors, adapting them into a form that resonates with the shapes and textures of a kippah. Each piece is handcrafted to re-signify the product, turning it into a symbol of reflection and learning.

YEERMULKE is more than just a product; it is a creative provocation. It invites the public to reflect on how fashion and culture can be tools to challenge prejudice and foster dialogue. Furthermore, a significant portion of the profits generated by the project is donated to organizations that promote Holocaust education and combat antisemitism, reinforcing our commitment to social justice and inclusion.

Adding a unique and personal touch to the project, renowned fashion designer Alexandre Herchcovitch, who is Jewish and has faced prejudice throughout his life for being both Jewish and homosexual, contributed his expertise in upscale customization. When introduced to the project, Herchcovitch immediately embraced the idea and designed the artistic elements for all YEERMULKES, imbuing each piece with his signature style and a profound message of resilience and inclusion.

YEERMULKE exemplifies how creativity can transform controversies into opportunities for discussion and change. By turning an icon of contemporary culture into an artifact loaded with symbolism and meaning, we demonstrate that art and design can reshape narratives and promote mutual understanding. This project reminds us that, even in the face of prejudice, building bridges that connect people through respect and empathy is possible.
