The Coca-Cola Glass Sipper.

March Madness is famous for its “Cinderella” stories — underdog teams that beat the odds and become the most talked-about moments of the tournament. But while champions get trophies, Cinderella teams and the fans behind them usually leave with nothing but the memory.

So Coca-Cola created a new honor for college basketball’s most thrilling upset: The Coca-Cola Glass Sipper.

Inspired by Cinderella’s glass slipper, we transformed the iconic Coca-Cola contour bottle into a size 11 glass basketball sneaker — combining the bottle’s curves, ridges, dimples, and ribbon into an object that is simultaneously a trophy, a sneaker, and a cup you can actually sip Coke from.

The first Glass Sipper was awarded to High Point University during the Final Four, turning an underdog moment into a new Coca-Cola tradition within March Madness. The project generated 466M earned impressions, 45.4M social impressions, and 100% positive sentiment, earning coverage across sports, sneaker, lifestyle, and advertising media.
